Luke 14: Parable of the Great Feast

Hearing this, a man sitting at the table with Jesus exclaimed, “What a blessing it will be to attend a banquet in the Kingdom of God!” Jesus replied with this story: “A man prepared a great feast and sent out many invitations. When the banquet was ready, he sent his servant to tell the guests, ‘Come, the banquet is ready.’ But they all began making excuses. One said, ‘I have just bought a field and must inspect it. Please excuse me.’ Another said, ‘I have just bought five pairs of oxen, and I want to try them out. Please excuse me.’ Another said, ‘I now have a wife, so I can’t come.’ “The servant returned and told his master what they had said. His master was furious and said, ‘Go quickly into the streets and alleys of the town and invite the poor, the crippled, the blind, and the lame.’ After the servant had done this, he reported, ‘There is still room for more.’ So his master said, ‘Go out into the country lanes and behind the hedges and urge anyone you find to come, so that the house will be full. For none of those I first invited will get even the smallest taste of my banquet.’ (Luke 14:15-24 NLT)

Parable of the Great Feast:

In comparison to the Feast in Heaven, the feast refers to the inherited eternal life, God is the master and we are His servants.

So here the God has prepared the way through Jesus (prepared the banquet) for us to go to Heaven. And the He has asked us to invite the men and women in the world to come into His courts for the sumptuous meal. So off we go witnessing and sharing Jesus (inviting his guests to the banquet) but they reject us, these are the people closest to us, our Jerusalem) And so God asks us to keep going, go to those who need healing and recovery and need to be cared for physically and invite them! (These sick people receive Jesus much easily) Then there is still room for people, and God wants the room to be completely filled to the fullest. And so He sends us out to nations to spread the news of His banquet! (our ends of the earth)

Sense that God has been speaking to us about witnessing and spreading Word of Him recently. Makes me wonder how much time we have left to the last second of the last day, when Jesus will return.. He's hastening us to go and don't be afraid any longer!
