Yesterday's session was on bible reading and devotions. We learnt to read and pick out the things that we should. Or the questions that we've picked up from the passage as well. It was also a session on BGR in the bible context and applied in reality as well. Was good to be able to learn and know the principles of a relationship. Not just boy-girl but friendships as well. That's something everyone would need to learn:) It's better than someone just telling you what to do or what shouldn't you do. It's life's principles and to us, God's principles that leads us to how we live our lives.
We often think that teenage relationships are the "sweetest" maybe because we are all happy and merry, having nothing to worry about when we are studying. (only exams and tests) But when we finish our studies and step into the working force, that's when we realise that life isn't a smooth walk, it isn't that simple. In the same way, taking the step of faith to believe and trust in Jesus, no one said that it would be a bed of roses. However, they did say that Jesus WILL bring us out of trouble or through it!:) That's why we don't have to worry as He has commanded us, but we just have to trust that He will never leave nor forsake us, especially in times of need.
So, yesterday we learnt a number of principles reading Genesis 24. It's a long chapter but it tells the story of Isaac and Rebekah. We looked further into verses 3-4, 6-8,12-14, 16, 18-20, 21, 23,54-58 and 63. Those were the chapters with the principles picked out.
The points to take away were basically:
- Learn to ask 'what', 'why' and 'how' when reading the bible.
- Know God and hence, your purpose in life.
- Life is not a bed of roses.
- When you cling onto God during storms in your life, He will see you through your life.
(We can also take a look at Proverbs 3:5-6)
Well, that's my point of view but it may not be yours, so feel free to express your views if you'd like to! (either in the comments or chat box maybe?)
Anyway, have a blessed Sunday! :)
